KMB carries 2 types of water heater options for you: Your traditional water heater or a tankless water heater.
This is your traditional water heater that has a tank storage. With your traditional water heater, a pipe delivers water into a tank that will hold anywhere from 30-50 gallons of water. Within this insulated tank components will heat up and store this water until it is needed. The heated water will then emerge from a pipe and be dispensed to the fixture that you request hot water from. Traditional Tank Hot Water Heaters heat water using electric or gas. There is also a hybrid type that can use either or method to heat up the water within the tank. Your average lifespan of a Tank Water Heater is approximately 10 years. With proper maintenance and regular inspections, you can potentially prolong the life of the heater. A tank water heater may, or may not, show signs when its time is nearing an end. As long as it is heating water sufficiently you should be just, fine right? This may or may not be the case. A quick visual inspection of the hot water heater to ensure there are no leaks or strange noises coming from it can help. Reaching out to KMB is your best bet, we will come in and inspect the water within the tank to ensure there is no internal corrosion. Once corrosion begins, your tank is nearing the end of its time. At KMB Plumbing, Electrical and HVAC, we carry Bradford White Water Heaters.
Another option for heating the water in your home is by using a tankless water heater. A tankless water heater is more of an on-demand water heater. When you open your water tap and want hot water an igniter activates within the tankless system. The igniter provides a flame to heat the water in which cold water will go through a secondary heat exchanger. As that pre-heated water passes through it will enter the primary heat exchanger. During this phase the unit will determine the outgoing temperature and adjust the flame to the tankless heater. From there the heated water will pass through the buffer tank and the desired hot water will be dispensed to your faucet / shower head or requested fixture or appliance.

A tankless system is up to 80% smaller than your traditional tank water heater. The initial purchase of a tankless water heater may cost more, but that will pay for itself in lifespan, as well as energy savings. A tankless water heater lifespan is approximately 20 years, doubling the span from a traditional tank water heater. At KMB Plumbing, Electrical and HVAC we carry Navien Tankless systems.

A properly maintained grinder pump should be able to handle wastewater from the kitchen, bathroom, laundry, etc. However, some chemicals and substances can adversely impact a grinder pump and may cause safety hazards. Failure of a pump on your sewer system can leave you with a real mess. You can count on KMB Plumbing, Electrical & HVAC to provide the finest quality sewage and grinder pumps available.

If you live in the Poconos in one of the many communities, you know all too well about Grinder Pumps. A Grinder pump was a popular choice amongst many builders within the area so many homes in communities have them.

The majority of grinder pumps will be outside of your home, located somewhere within your yard. We have seen cases in which a grinder pump was installed in the basement foundation / garage. The purpose of a grinder pump is to take wastewater from bathtubs, washing machines, sinks, toilets, etc. and dispense it into the grinder pumps holding tank. Once that wastewater inside of the holding take reaches a certain level the pump itself will turn on and grind all the waste into very fine particles that will then be dispensed into your sewer system or septic mound. While maintenance on these systems is not regular, from time to time you may have a float that gets stuck. For homeowners that have Grinder Pumps as an option it is imperative to understand that anything you put down any of your pipes will find its way to this pump. Due to that we experience many service calls of something accidently getting flushed down a toilet. For that reason, we made this sign that you can nicely place above your toilets letting your visitors / guests know. Should you be experiencing an alarm sound going off within your grinder pump call KMB Plumbing, Electrical & HVAC immediately, we do perform troubleshooting and solutions. We have experienced plumbers that can replace your pump should it have reached it's time.

A sump pump takes water that has been collecting in an area and pumps that water allowing it to flow regularly. You will commonly find sump pumps in basements in which water seeps in and cannot escape. In this application a sump pump will be used with a series of drains to funnel the water into a collecting basin. The sump pump will then take that water and pump it out through your existing plumbing or created an exit method. For any further questions that you may have we are here to help.
